Technical Schemas and Diagrams
Original Diagrams
The photographs illustrating the articles have been supplemented by over 300 original technical drawings developed by the editorial team to clarify procedures. Examples of these are displayed throughout the website.
Detailed Instrument and Bow Schemas
Two major articles of detailed instrument and bow schemas ensure the clear and precise use of technical terms throughout the publication and aim to provide a new international standard in terminology. The instrument schemas consist of 11 drawings on ten pages and the bow schemas consist of 17 drawings on six pages.

Concordances of Instrument and Bow Terms
The instrument and bow schemas are accompanied by concordance tables that list the equivalents of all the terms in French, German, and Italian.
Instrument and Bow Documentation Diagrams
Two articles on the documentation of instruments and bows include systematic forms and are accompanied by detailed series of diagrams for recording measurements: 30 in the case of instruments and 13 for bows. These will allow makers, conservators, and scholars to establish exhaustive empirical descriptions by noting measurements directly in the appropriate circles on copies of the diagrams.
